 The MR762A1 features a proprietary HK short-stroke gas piston, which operates cleaner and more reliably than the direct-gas-impingement system found on other AR15-style rifles. The closed HK piston system ensures that exhaust gases never enter the receiver, allowing the MR762A1 to run cooler and more efficiently, even in adverse conditions like dust, sand, and mud.

The MR762A1 is built for accuracy and durability, featuring a cold hammer-forged barrel made from high-quality cannon-grade steel. This barrel ensures superior accuracy, even after firing thousands of rounds. HK's manufacturing processes also include additional steps to enhance durability, accuracy, and service life, providing performance well beyond "mil-spec." The rifle has a 10-round magazine, M-LOK handguard, and a 16.5" medium contour barrel.
